I AM SO EXCITED…

…for the “Hunger Games” movie. Being that there’s just over a month to go and the new trailer was released, my anticipation is beginning to feverishly peak. Fun facts: Suzanne Collins adapted the book herself for the film, and Billy Ray (a screenwriter) just fine-tuned the script a bit to make it a proper shooting script. The movie’s gonna cut back-and-forth between the arena and the viewers in the districts. (So we’ll see Prim, Gale and Mama Everdeen watching the Games as well). Another excellent departure from the book: President Snow is given two extra scenes in the movie, one of which is a confrontation towards Katniss after the Games, a scene not unlike the chapter in “Catching Fire” when he shows up in District 12 to explain the uprisings and threaten Katniss. I’m extremely pleased this is happening, because I really think President Snow should be established is the primary antagonist of the trilogy in the first film. As he is barely in the first book, if this were to be omitted from the movie, he wouldn’t be seen as the villain until the second film. For some reason I think it should be established in the first one. Perhaps I’ll be disappointed with the adaptation, but I’m relatively confident this will work well in the movie. I cannot stress how excited I am! Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor.
